Clint Foley - owner/coach
Clint is the founder and head coach at Hard Gainers Athletics. As a late-bloomer in high school, he overcame physical challenges to become a full-ride NCAA athlete. After college, he applied skill sets acquired through his athletic career to become a corporate executive in Product Development. HGA was started in April of 2012 to assist competitive athletes, recreational athletes and working professionals in maximizing their fitness potential. His training priorities are 1) Overall Vision, 2) Goal Setting, 3) Training Through Adversity, and 4) Detail Execution which are all skill sets that, while learned in athletics, can be applied to fitness, business, and life in general. Clint works with clients by creating or evolving their own skill sets in each of these areas, assisting them to be stronger and healthier, not only physically but mentally too.
Jeff Romero - Ops Manager/Coach
Jeff graduated from UIC with a B.S. in Kinesiology. Prior to starting with HGA in 2016, Jeff worked with some of the top doctors and physical therapists in the state at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. It was Jeff’s passion for athletics and helping people that made him want to become a performance coach. Being able to help people get 1% better everyday is why he loves this industry. Along with his experience, Jeff currently holds PES, CES, DBC L1, and PN L1 certifications. “If you can move better, you can perform better”.
Jake Donovan - Sports performance manager/Coach
Jake started at Hard Gainers Athletics in September of 2017. He graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Exercise Science in May of 2017. He specializes in working with athletes on enhancing sports performance training from a very safe and principled approach. He happened to have the opportunity to intern at two different performance facilities with one of them being the highly accredited EXOS in Dallas, TX. “I want to be able to use my knowledge/experience toward pushing anyone and everyone I can closer toward their dreams.”
heidi foley - crossfit manager
Being a former volleyball/softball player at Millikin University, Rugby player at Illinois State University, a high school gymnast, and a 2001 Chicago Marathon Finisher, living a healthy lifestyle was always a number one priority for Heidi. She wants to be a good role model not only for her own children, but also for other adults that want to make improvements to their fitness but aren't sure where to start. Being able to motivate someone and see them succeed is very fulfilling and the reason behind why she pursued coaching. Heidi has been with Hard Gainers Athletics since 2012 and specializes in general physical preparedness, general fitness, personal training, and group classes.
Corey Cooper - Performance Coach
Corey was an All-B1G Ten Safety at the University of Nebraska and currently holds an ISSA-CPT certification. Coaching is his passion and what he dedicates his life too. He enjoys seeing his clients self-confidence and improvements increase whether it’s for performance or a lifestyle change.
tony chan - head crossfit coach
Tony Chan, a former police officer, was a 3 sport athlete (football, basketball, and track) in high school and a NCAA D-3 college track hurdler and sprinter. He has been doing CrossFit since 2012. After a year of doing CrossFit, he fell in love with the sport and obtained his L1 and L2, as well as a few other CrossFit specialty courses. Tony has been coaching since 2013, and continues to be passionate when it comes to teaching and sharing his knowledge of CrossFit.
justin miller - crossfit coach
As a lifelong athlete, Justin played many sports growing up. It was at AWP Sports Performance in Indiana where Justin pushed the limits of his body and his passion for training developed. After his final year of college football at Wheaton College in 2016, Justin dove headfirst into pursuing CrossFit to fill his competitive drive, but CrossFit also opened up a door for Justin to become a Coach. As a Coach, Justin loves developing relationships with his athletes that go beyond the gym. His desire is that each athlete he comes in contact with would leave the gym knowing they got a little better than yesterday.
Ellie Disselkoen - crossfit coach
Ellie is Certified Level 1 CrossFit coach and currently works as a part time coach at Hard Gainers Athletics. She started CrossFit as a supplement to her equestrian training and immediately saw the positive results of regular fitness in her daily activities and mentality. CrossFit's scalable intensities allowed her to flourish as a novice athlete, knowing nothing about fitness, to becoming a coach. CrossFit has changed her perspective on life and what is means to take care of the body holistically, and from her experience in the fitness world, she is extremely excited inspire people to pursue a healthy lifestyle and achieve their fitness goals.

Sam Krawiec (noun) : A simple girl. Enjoys gangster rap, snacks, and taking preworkout straight to the face. Also known as Sammy Cakes. The most fun Crossfit HG coach.
Rachel McCulloch - Crossfit Coach / social media Coordinator
Rachel is a WITS Certified Personal Trainer and CrossFit L1 Coach. She comes to Hard Gainers Athletics with a background in pre and post natal fitness and enjoys working with women in all stages of life. Rachel lives in Lombard with her husband Ben and their 3 young children.
Ricardo Cordova - Crossfit Coach
When Ricardo started his IT Professional career, his lifestyle, eating habits, and busy schedule started to take a negative toll on him. He found a personal trainer who happened to be a Russian Kettlebell Certified trainer. This trainer helped him get back into shape and Ricardo fell in love how he could move the kettlebell with explosiveness and speed. Being a former multi-sport athlete, he missed the team aspect and competitive nature, therefore he sought out a local CrossFit box in his area. After his first week at this box, he instantly fell in love with the sport of CrossFit. Ricardo loves coaching and seeing results in his clients. He is a strong believer of CrossFit’s methodology, and stays true to his mechanics and makes sure technique and consistency before intensity. Ricardo currently holds a CrossFit Level 1 certification.
